FCT-IRS pledges more robust collaboration with CITN, other taxation bodies to enhance tax administration

The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has pledged its continued support and cooperation to Chattered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and other relevant bodies to boost the existing collaboration for the development of tax administration in the territory.

Mr, Abdullahi Haruna, the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT-IRS made the pledge when he received the Chairman of the CITN, Abuja chapter, Mrs. Clara Nnachi in Abuja on Monday.

He assured the Executive Committee Members of CITN of the Service unwavering support and collaboration adding that FCT-IRS would continue to partner with the institute towards ensuring tax compliance and improving revenue generation in the FCT.

While highlighting the value of CITN to the Service, the Acting Executive Chairman further stated that FCT-IRS would continue to encourage its staff to be registered members of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria with a view to promote capacity building and cooperation between the Service and the institute.

In her remarks, the Chairman, CITN Abuja chapter, Mrs. Clara Nnachi said they were at the Service Headquarters, to seek support on the forthcoming Ruby Jubilee (40th Anniversary) of CITN.

Nnachi commended the Service for the explicit contribution and cooperation network it had built with the institute. She further stated that the courtesy visit was necessary because FCT-IRS was regarded as a major stakeholder of CITN.

It can be recalled that on January 21, a similar visit was paid to the FCT-IRS by the institute of CITN led by its National President Mr. Adesina Adedayo; where they applauded the service for its tremendous achievement in terms of revenue generation.
